Objectives:

• Hard and soft tissue management skills around teeth and implants
• Diagnosis and treatment planning of mucogingival defects
• Principles used in root coverage procedures and gingival augmentation around teeth and Implants
• Recipient and donor site preparation harvesting techniques and donor site protection
• Autogenous vs Allograft in root coverage and implant coverage, as well as various soft augmentation procedures
• Management of post-operative complications - recovery of soft and hard tissue aesthetics

About the Speaker: Dmitriy Ivanov, DDS
Dr. Ivanov’s path to becoming a board-certified periodontist began with a deep curiosity about science and a passion for helping others. He graduated Summa Cum Laude in Biological Sciences from UC Santa Barbara, then went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the UCLA School of Dentistry. Determined to specialize further, he completed a rigorous residency in Advanced Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at the Veterans Hospital of West Los Angeles/UCLA Medical Center. That training gave him hands-on experience with the some of the most complex cases, shaping the expertise he now brings to every patient.

Beyond patient care, Dr. Ivanov is passionate about improving the standard of dentistry. He co-founded Perio Amigos Advanced Tissue Management Courses, where he trains clinicians across the country and internationally in advanced periodontal and implant techniques. For patients, this means the doctor caring for you is also helping teach the next generation of specialists. Today, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists - credentials that reflect years of dedication, precision and passion for excellence.
